The US State Department has approved the possible sale of more than 1,400 GBU-39/B diameter bombs to Poland for a total of $180 million. This was announced on May 21 by the Pentagon's Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA).

"The State Department has decided to approve the possible foreign military sale of GBU-39/B small—diameter aerial bombs to the Polish government," the agency said in a statement.

The amount of the possible sale also includes maintenance and logistical expenses. It is specified that the Polish side has requested 1,400 GBU-39/B diameter aerial bombs and four GBU-39 (T-1)/B training aerial bombs. The main supplier under this deal will be Boeing Corporation, located in St. Louis, Missouri.

On April 29, it was reported that the US State Department had approved the sale of a $1.33 billion arms package to Poland, including 400 AIM-120D air–to-air missiles. As part of the deal, Poland will also receive missile containers and auxiliary equipment, as well as all necessary materials for missile maintenance.
