During the meeting, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak and Bahrain's Minister of Oil and Environment Mohammed bin Mubarak bin Deina discussed the possibilities of joint work on exploration and production of oil and gas on the Bahraini shelf with the participation of Russian companies. This was announced on May 21 by the press service of the Russian Government.

In addition, during the meeting, the representatives discussed further cooperation within the framework of the OPEC+ deal, which will ensure the stability of the global oil market. The parties also agreed to continue joint activities in this area.

"We highly appreciate the traditionally friendly nature of Russian-Bahraini relations. This September, we will celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries," Novak said.

According to him, in the first three months of this year, the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 14.9% compared to the previous year. He added that the key task at the moment is to bring trade relations between Russia and Bahrain to a new level.

Novak announced on May 12 that by 2050 Russia will be able to become the first in the Asian oil and gas markets by developing infrastructure for the supply of resources. According to him, the Russian Federation plans to develop main pipelines, port and railway infrastructure, which also include increasing the capacity of the Eastern landfill.
