- Trump in the White House chastised a reporter for asking about a plane donated by Qatar

At a meeting with his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa at the White House, US President Donald Trump criticized a reporter for asking about a plane donated by Qatar to the American leader. This was reported by the Independent newspaper on May 21.
"You're a terrible reporter. First of all, you don't have what it takes to do this job. You're not smart enough. You brought up the subject of the plane that was handed over to the US Air Force, which is very good," he told NBC News correspondent Peter Alexander.
Trump noted that along with the plane, the United States received $5.1 trillion in investments from Qatar. The US president advised the reporter to better investigate the alleged genocide of white farmers in South Africa.
CNN reported on May 20 that the Trump administration had taken the initiative to purchase a Boeing 747 for use as Air Force One, despite claims that Qatar itself had donated the aircraft to the US president. As the interlocutors of the publication clarified, initially it was a question of renting an airplane, and not about its direct purchase. However, Trump has repeatedly described the potential deal as a gift from the Qatari royal family.
