Repair of the Avangard sports complex started in Poronaysk on Sakhalin

Major repairs of the Avangard sports complex have started in the city of Poronaysk in the Sakhalin Region. This is reported by SakhalinMedia news agency with reference to the press service of the Poronai Municipal District administration.

Construction workers are currently working on the facade of the building, and interior repairs have also begun. By autumn, the contractor plans to install a modern facade, equip the porch and the entrance group.

The project also includes the renovation of locker rooms, the construction of separate bathrooms and showers. The renovation of the table tennis hall is planned on the second floor.

According to Anton Karpukov, the mayor of the district, the sports complex was built in the early 1990s, and it is still one of the main sports centers of the city. Avangard hosts competitions, and young volleyball, basketball, track and field athletes and other athletes train daily.
