A new recreation area "Timiryazevskoe" will be created in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk by October

In Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, by October 2025, they plan to complete the creation of a new recreation area, Timiryazevskoye. This is reported by the city administration.

A new public space is being improved in the Novo-Alexandrovsk planning area. The contractor started work a few days ago.

"This recreation area is located next to a residential area. The Krasnoselskaya River flows nearby. This place will be in demand for walks, family vacations with children," Dmitry Sudnik, deputy head of the city's road management and landscaping department, expressed confidence.

The project provides for the creation of a multifunctional zone. Benches, shade shelters, a playground will be installed on the territory, and an artificial "river" of flowers with a decorative pedestrian bridge will be created. Landscaping works, including the construction of a hedge, are also planned, SakhalinMedia news agency writes.

In 2024, the Timiryazevsky project became the winner of the vote within the framework of the federal project "Creating a comfortable urban environment" of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". It is planned to implement the plan by the end of September 2025.
