The series of events "Friend, rescuer, defender" starts in the capital on May 24.

A series of "Friend, Rescuer, Defender" events will begin in the capital on May 24. It will bring together over 70 sites throughout the city, set up as part of the Pets in Moscow project, said Deputy Mayor Natalia Sergunina.

"There are more than 200 events waiting for the participants. These are meetings with dog handlers, bloggers and artists, demonstrations, veterinary consultations and competitions," Sergunina said.

According to her, for several months on weekends, experts will give lectures on the health and characteristics of each breed. Experienced veterinarians and zoologists will talk about disease prevention, proper nutrition, the need for regular checkups and vaccinations.

Among the key events of the season is the second open championship of the Russian Cynological Federation in agility (speed obstacle course). It will be held on May 31 in the capital's largest specially created park on Kola Street. On June 28, the first Moscow offensive championship (accuracy and technique of executing commands) will be held at the same venue.

On June 21, on the Day of the Dog Handler, the program "A dog is a friend in the service of the Fatherland" will be organized in the cynological park on Timurovskaya Street. The audience will see demonstration performances by rescue dogs and bloodhounds.

Animal photographers will also arrange photo sessions for animals at the project sites. Thematic meetings with popular bloggers and artists will be held for the owners.

Since 2021, 79 modern spaces for walking dogs have been set up in Moscow under the My Neighborhood program as part of the Pets in Moscow project. Some of them are on the site of wastelands. The new standard takes into account many parameters, including aesthetics, comfort, the use of high-quality and environmentally friendly materials, the availability of functional areas for walking, playing and training.
