On May 21, American film director and actor Kevin Smith, in an interview with Izvestia, spoke about his desire to come to Russia, as well as make a film with Russian actor Yura Borisov.

"I have to go. In all the time that I've been making films, which is 31 years, I've never been to Russia. But I've heard that there are people there who like us. <...> I've never been there, but I'm looking forward to the trip," he said.

According to Smith, he would not mind inviting actors Mark Edelstein and Yuri Borisov to participate in his films, but the director is not sure if they will agree.

"I am always happy if there is a strong actor in any of my work. Probably, someone who was lucky enough to participate in "Anora", which went very well, will not want to participate in my films. <...> Because I am old. And [Anora director] Sean Baker is new and incredibly talented," he stressed.

In March, the 97th Academy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. The film "Anora" with Borisov and Edelstein won the award for "Best Film". Borisov was nominated for Best Supporting Actor, but did not receive the award.
