FAS has sent requests to the largest producers of poultry and pork

The Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) has sent inquiries to the largest producers of poultry and pork. This was reported to Izvestia on May 21 by the press service of the department.
"The service will assess the validity of setting wholesale and selling prices for products. 13 companies must provide information on the volume of production and sales of products, as well as data on cost, wholesale and selling prices and profitability of sales," the FAS said.
It is clarified that in cases of an increase in wholesale prices for chicken, turkey and pork meat in early spring, the agency also requested information about its causes. If there is no reason to raise prices, the FAS of Russia will take antitrust response measures.
The largest poultry meat producers are Cherkizovo PJSC, GAP Resource and Prioskolye JSC (Invest Trade LLC), Damate Group of Companies.
The largest pork producers are Rusagro Group LLC, APH Miratorg LLC, Sibagro JSC, Gvardia LLC, Kamsky Bacon LLC, Znamensky SGC LLC, RKZ-Tavr LLC, Agrocomplex JSC, Yuzhnoye MPP LLC.
On May 20, the FAS revealed a cartel in the medical field worth 1.2 billion rubles. The service suspects the organizations of collusion to maintain prices at auction. The total amount of the initial (maximum) contract prices, previously, amounted to over 1.2 billion rubles.
