Lavrov joked about marital status at a meeting with students in Yerevan

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov joked about marital status during a meeting with students at the Russian-Armenian University on May 21.
The moderator of the discussion asked the students to introduce themselves, name their place of work or study and their specialty before asking the Russian Foreign Minister a question. Lavrov noted that it is not necessary to mention, for example, marital status, thereby wasting time. Rector of the Russian-Armenian University Edward Sandoyan, in turn, echoing the minister's remark, noted that the issue of marital status may be relevant because of "pretty girls."
"If they're cute, you just need an address, why do you need a marital status?" — Lavrov sneered.
The Russian Foreign Minister is on a working visit to Armenia. Earlier in the day, during a press conference following a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan, he noted that there are no signs of Ukrainization in Armenia in the form of oppression of the Russian-speaking population. In particular, Lavrov stressed that the country has not adopted laws that prohibit the Russian language and culture.
