Demolition of the Bagration Bridge lobby has begun in the Moscow City area

The dismantling of the northern lobby of the Bagration pedestrian bridge has begun in the area of the Moscow City business center. This was reported on May 21 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the scene.

The bridge was closed for reconstruction on May 12. According to journalists, workers have already dismantled part of the glass facade. The approach to the facility is blocked, special equipment is working on site.

The facility, opened in 1997, became the first element of the transport infrastructure of the future Moscow City business center. According to the project, the reconstruction of the bridge should be completed by December 31, 2030.

During the work, residents and guests of the city are offered to use alternative routes — public transport and electric vessels running between the banks of the Moskva River.

On May 13, the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, said that since the beginning of this year alone, more than 500 permits have been issued in the capital to preserve cultural heritage sites. According to him, many works on the restoration of the facades of the Durasov Palace have been completed. In particular, the antique-themed bas-reliefs were restored, the stucco decoration was cleaned and small cracks were eliminated.
