Rubio called Biden's freezing of negotiations with Russia an irresponsible approach

The administration of former US President Joe Biden behaved irresponsibly, freezing negotiations with Russia for three years. This opinion was expressed on May 21 by the American Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

"Regardless of the situation in Ukraine, at least some level of communication between Washington and Moscow must be maintained. To be honest, it's irresponsible when the two largest nuclear powers don't communicate, and that's exactly how it's been for three years," Rubio added, speaking at a hearing in the U.S. House of Representatives.

The Secretary of State also said that it is necessary to conduct a dialogue with the Russian Federation to prevent miscalculations and conflicts, noting that friendly relations between the United States and Russia will improve "if conditions change."

At the same time, Moscow and Washington are discussing a meeting between the two presidents on how the dialogue on conflict resolution will develop.

On May 20, US President Donald Trump accused Biden's entourage of treason because of permits for migrants to enter the country signed during his reign. According to the American leader, Biden was not a supporter of the open borders policy.

On May 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a telephone conversation with American leader Donald Trump, said that Russia was ready to work on a memorandum with Ukraine, including a cease-fire. According to the Russian leader, Moscow stands for a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis.
