The lawyer noted the importance of an open register of alimony defaulters

The publication of the register of malicious alimony defaulters is the foundation for tougher measures against unscrupulous citizens. Anna Frolova, a family lawyer, told Izvestia on May 21.
"When this registry is open, new sanctions will be added. For example, they have been saying for a long time now that it is necessary to limit business class flights to a citizen who has alimony debts. And how will the airline know? <...> The airline will have the opportunity to enter the registry and see if a citizen is in it or not," the lawyer gave an example.
She added that new restrictions may include bans on the use of certain public services, work in the civil service, loans, and more.
According to Frolova, the publication of the list can have, among other things, a psychological impact on malicious alimony defaulters and make them fear for their reputation.
"The open registry has more, of course, a public, censorious character. And it should reflect precisely on the moral qualities of a citizen, the inner sense of oneself, when his last name, first name, patronymic in the search bar, in any source, his last name will be stamped in this open register," the lawyer noted.
Earlier that day, Dmitry Aristov, director of the Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of the Russian Federation, said that the service was working on the issue of banning car registration for alimony defaulters. It was noted that now the bailiff can impose restrictions on the debtor at the request of the recoverer or independently if he decides that this will help to collect the debt faster.
