- The head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation spoke about the behavior of the arrested Ukrainian military in court

The arrested and subsequently convicted militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) behave very modestly during the investigation and in the courtroom. This was announced on May 21 by the head of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, at the Youth International Legal Forum.
"They lower their heads, as if they repent, but they haven't been caught yet. <...> With such bowed heads, Ukrainian servicemen listen to the verdict," said the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, quoted by TASS.
Bastrykin cited as an example the face-to-face sentences against the militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who killed civilians, who were sentenced to long terms of imprisonment.
Earlier, on May 19, the head of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation announced the initiation of more than 3,000 criminal cases into the shelling of Russian territories by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He stated that the largest number of attacks was recorded in the Belgorod, Kursk, Bryansk and Rostov regions, Krasnodar Territory, as well as in the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
