In the current 2025, it is planned to sow more than 542 thousand hectares in the Moscow region. The course of the sowing campaign was discussed in the relevant committee of the Moscow Regional Duma.
249 thousand hectares have been allocated for spring crops. This crop has already been planted on more than 146 thousand hectares, which is 69 thousand hectares more than a year earlier.
To date, the plan for grain crops has been fulfilled by 74%, for legumes — by 83%, for potatoes — by 20%, and for oilseeds — by 83%.
More than 3.9 thousand tractors, 859 cultivators, and 697 seeders will be involved in agricultural work. According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, there are no problems with the provision of seeds and fuel in the region.
Farmers near Moscow expect to harvest 530 thousand tons of grain and legumes, 360 thousand tons of potatoes, 250 thousand tons of open-ground vegetables and 100 thousand tons of oilseeds.
Earlier in May, Izvestia reported that frosts had destroyed 12% of sugar beet crops, and they would have to be replanted. Also, the southern regions of Russia may lose up to half of the harvest of apricots, peaches, cherries and plums.
