- The leader of the opposition party in Moldova was fined for wearing a St. George ribbon.
Natalia Parasca, the leader of the Moldovan opposition Vozrozhdenie party, was fined for wearing a St. George ribbon on Victory Day. She wrote about this on May 21 in her Telegram channel.
According to Paraska, the current government has once again "shown an anti-national nature" by punishing it for preserving historical memory.
"The penalty is that I remember and am proud of the heroes who liberated Moldova, the entire Soviet Union and half the world from the brown plague of Nazism. A fine for the fact that I refuse to accept the distortion of history," the politician wrote.
She also stressed that she proudly accepts this fine. According to her, she is on the right track if she is fined in Moldova, which is taken over by the "justifiers of fascism."
On April 23, it was reported that the Moldovan authorities banned the holding of Victory Day events in Chisinau's main square and decided that only Europe Day would be celebrated in the republic on May 9.
