Vandals stole stars from monuments to Soviet soldiers in Kherson region

In Novaya Kakhovka, Kherson region, unknown people stole stars from monuments to Soviet soldiers of the Great Patriotic War (WWII) in the Glory Park. This was announced on May 21 by Konstantin Basyuk, a member of the Federation Council Committee on Defense and Security, Senator from the region.

"Persons without honor and conscience stole stars from commemorative plaques to the soldiers who liberated the Kakhovskaya land during the Great Patriotic War," Basyuk wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, six of the 21 stars were abducted. He also added that he instructed his assistants to file a statement about the incident with law enforcement agencies.

On May 2, it became known that in the city of Tavriysk, Kherson region, unknown persons committed an act of vandalism against a monument to Soviet soldiers of the Second World War. It was noted that the vandals broke the paving slabs, removed the tricolor, the Victory Banner and the flag of the United Russia party.
