The attendance of sanatoriums in the Murmansk region increased by 3%

In 2024, the Murmansk Region ranked fourth among the regions of the Northwestern Federal District in terms of the number of vacationers in sanatoriums. The rating is published on the Sanatorium-Russia portal.RF.

According to the service, 35,982 people visited health resorts in the Kola Arctic region last year. During the year, the number of tourists increased by 2.9%.

According to the Bi-port news agency, there are 908 places in the region's sanatoriums. As a rule, they are located in picturesque and unspoilt corners of the region, for example, on the shores of the White and Barents Seas.

St. Petersburg became the leader in the number of sanatoriums used in the Northwestern Federal District. 72,481 people rested in the city on the Neva River, an increase of 4.1% over the year.

The Kaliningrad Region took the second place with 70,529 people, an increase of 6.3%. The Novgorod region rounded out the top three, where 40,674 people improved their health, but the tourist flow decreased by 3.6%.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Karelia and Murmansk are trying to oust Sochi, Altai and Kazan in the ranking of the most popular cities and regions for business events. Conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events are increasingly being held in more northern regions.
