Patrushev and Texler discussed the development of agriculture and environmental issues in the Chelyabinsk region

Dmitry Patrushev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, on Wednesday, May 21, during a meeting with Alexey Texler, Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region, discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex and environmental issues in the region.

The head of the Chelyabinsk region said that this year the region plans to harvest more than 2 million tons of grain and about 260 thousand tons of oilseeds, as well as provide a feed base for livestock. Patrushev noted that it is important to support local farmers during the sowing campaign with all material resources, including plant protection products and fertilizers.

In addition, Texler spoke about major investment projects in agriculture, including the growth of animal husbandry, especially in the production of poultry meat and eggs. Thus, a breeding reproducer for breeding chickens "Smena-9" is being built in the region, and cooperation has been established with agricultural universities to train specialists.

The parties also discussed environmental initiatives, including the implementation of the national Ecology project in the region. The Chelyabinsk Region has implemented projects to create municipal solid waste disposal facilities, eliminate landfills, reduce pollutant emissions, and restore forests. Within the framework of the new national project "Environmental well-being", which was launched this year, work in these areas will continue.

On April 18, Patrushev discussed agricultural development and environmental issues with Sakhalin Oblast Governor Valery Limarenko. According to Limarenko, the development of coastal fishing is a priority for the region, so one of the key topics of the meeting was the modernization of the Korsakov Commercial Seaport. The development plan for the Southern Bucket of the port provides for the creation of a technology park for the production of fishing and tourist vessels, as well as infrastructure for the entry of coastal fishing vessels.
