The number of women in leadership positions has increased in Russia

The share of female executives has increased in 58% of Russian companies over the past year. This is evidenced by the data of the joint researcher Uteam and Rockwool, which appeared at the disposal of Izvestia on May 22.

During this period, there were fewer women among managers in 12% of companies, while the proportion remained unchanged in the rest.

At the same time, there are more men in senior positions: women predominate in only 37% of enterprises, and the ratio is approximately the same in another 11%.

The industries most loyal to female managers are retail, art and culture, media and marketing, hotels and catering, business services (for example, recruitment agencies), medicine (especially in the field of cosmetology). Women are least likely to be found in the leadership of construction, oil and gas and industrial enterprises, in the extractive industry, in logistics and agriculture, as well as in the financial sector.

In general, Russians have a positive attitude towards female managers, the study notes: 16% are confident that they are more multitasking, 13% are more attentive. At the same time, 11% believe that women are too emotional for managerial work, and 13% do not believe in their competence. The remaining 47% are neutral.

Among the respondents, it is believed that leadership positions force women to be strict and demanding in order to strengthen their authority in the work team.
