More than 113 thousand residents of the border areas of the Kursk region received monthly payments in the amount of 65 thousand rubles. This was announced on May 21 by the acting governor of the region, Alexander Khinstein, on the Rossiya 24 TV channel.

He recalled that the support measure was introduced in February.

"As of April, our last monthly payments <...> were received by a little more than 113,200 people," he said.

The acting head of the Kursk region stressed that the total monthly payments amounted to about 7.3 billion rubles per month.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin had instructed to keep the payment of 65,000 rubles for residents of the Kursk region until people could return to their homes.
