In the Russian Federation, it may be forbidden for alimony debtors to register a car

The Federal Bailiff Service (FSSP) of the Russian Federation is working on the issue of introducing a ban on car registration for alimony defaulters. This was announced by Dmitry Aristov, Director of the service, on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.
"The issue of refusing to provide government services such as registration of motor vehicles and trailers to debtors on alimony obligations included in the register is being worked out," RIA Novosti quoted Aristov as saying on May 21.
Now the bailiff can impose restrictions on the debtor at the request of the recoverer or independently, if he decides that this will help to collect the debt faster. For example, a bailiff may impose a ban on the sale of property (including a vehicle), and restrict certain categories of debtors the right to drive a vehicle (if the debt is more than 10 thousand rubles).
The day before, amendments to the law "On Enforcement Proceedings" were submitted to the State Duma for consideration, providing for an expansion of the list of grounds for temporarily restricting the validity of a driver's license. The amendments relate to art. 67.1, according to which such a measure is currently in effect for non-payers of alimony, debtors for compensation for damage caused to health, damage due to the death of the breadwinner, property damage and (or) moral damage caused by a crime, and a number of other grounds.
