There are no signs of Ukrainization in Armenia in the form of oppression of the Russian-speaking population. This was stated on May 21 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a press conference following a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

"I don't see any reasons for the Ukrainization of Armenia. Armenia is our ally, our friend," the Russian Foreign Minister stressed.

Lavrov noted that there are no laws in Armenia that prohibit the Russian language and culture, as well as deprive Russian-speaking people of their rights, as happened in Ukraine. According to him, there is no such practice of language bans in any country that the Kiev regime is engaged in.

"We found out that the Azerbaijani language is not banned in Armenia. In Azerbaijan, including Karabakh, the Armenian language is not prohibited under the Azerbaijani constitution, but Russian is prohibited in Ukraine," the Russian minister noted.

On May 7, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that Armenia was not going to worsen relations with Russia while building contacts with the West. He noted that the country is guided by a balanced foreign policy, which does not envisage building ties with some states at the expense of deteriorating relations with others.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on March 21 that Russia is ready to develop relations with Armenia in every possible way. According to the Russian President's press secretary, Armenia is a friendly and sovereign state with which Russia has many things in common.
