Validation of behavior assessments may be introduced from September 1 in a number of regions. This was announced on April 21 by the head of the Ministry of Education Sergey Kravtsov at the IV meeting of the All-Russian Parent Committee.

"As for the assessment for behavior and diligence, let's discuss it. We have selected a number of regions and propose to test them starting from the next academic year, on September 1," Kravtsov said.

As the head of the ministry emphasized, it offers three options for testing, which were discussed with teachers: on a five―point scale ― "excellent", "good", "satisfactory", "unsatisfactory" and "completely unsatisfactory", on a three-point scale - "unsatisfactory", "satisfactory" and "exemplary", or in the form of offsetting.

He also noted that the project will include a number of schools in six regions: Novgorod, Yaroslavl, Tula regions, Lugansk People's Republic (LNR), Chechnya and Mordovia.

On May 16, the staff of the Institute for the Study of Childhood, Family and Upbringing proposed to the Ministry of Education to discuss the issue of introducing marks for behavior in schools. The educational institution conducted a study commissioned by the ministry, which was attended by almost 800 thousand people. Of the parents surveyed, 39% indicated that assessments could be a way to prevent disciplinary violations, while 33% believed that calling parents to school would serve as such a tool.
