Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Azarov called the murder of Portnov at the school a special cynicism.

The murder of Andrei Portnov, an ex-adviser to former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, which took place in Spain, is particularly cynical, as it was committed near a school. This opinion was expressed by former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov on Wednesday, May 21.

"Unfortunately, it was confirmed from Spain. No comments yet. There is a special cynicism about the school where his child studies," he told RIA Novosti.

Azarov noted that he knew Portnov well, RT reports.

Earlier in the day, the Spanish police said that so far they have no information about the Portnov shooters.

The tailor was 51 years old. In the 2000s, he served as a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, and in 2010 he became deputy head of the presidential Administration. At that time, Portnov was responsible for the courts and the law enforcement system.

After the coup in Ukraine, Portnov lived abroad. In 2014, Portnov left Ukraine, and returned in 2019, supporting Volodymyr Zelensky in the presidential election. After the start of the special military operation (SVO), he left the country again and settled in Spain, reports NSN.
