In the American city of Perrysburg, Ohio, police detained 24-year-old Venezuelan Anthony Emmanuel Labrador Sierra for posing as a 16-year-old teenager and studying at a local high school. This was reported on May 21 by ABC News TV channel, citing sources.

According to police, in November 2023, Sierra, a Labrador, contacted the Perrysburg School and asked to be enrolled as a student. He claimed to be a homeless immigrant from Venezuela. The man also claimed that he was a victim of human trafficking.

It is reported that Sierra, a Labrador, presented a certificate with a date of birth on December 2, 2007 as proof. As a result, the Venezuelan started school in January 2024. Already in March of the same year, Sierra, a Labrador, was adopted into the family of Katie and Brad Melfred — the couple received permanent custody of him.

However, on May 14, 2024, Evelyn Camacho contacted Melfreda, who stated that Sierra's Labrador was "actually 24 years old" and he was the father of her child. Camacho sent the couple a photo of the man's driver's license with the date of birth on March 27, 2001, as well as his photos from social networks with her and a young child, the material says.

It is clarified that the police conducted a check and it turned out that the Venezuelan had an expired work visa. His actual date of birth was indeed March 27, 2001.

ABC News notes that his work visa expired the same year he applied to Perrysburg High School to enroll.

The man was detained for forgery of documents. He is currently in custody, the publication added.

Since coming to power on January 20, US President Donald Trump has repeatedly advocated stricter immigration policy. He stated that he intended to ensure the largest operation in American history to deport illegal migrants.

So, on May 5, the American government announced the start of payments to illegal migrants for $ 1 thousand if they decide to leave the country on their own initiative.
