Spanish police suggest that the reason for the murder of Andrei Portnov, an ex-adviser to former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych, could have been due to debts or political motives. This was reported by ABC newspaper on May 21.
It is noted that the homicide squad, national police criminologists and an intelligence team are investigating.
It is indicated that, according to an ABC source, the attack occurred after Portnov took his daughters to school.
The murder of Portnov became known earlier that day. According to media reports, the ex-adviser to Yanukovych was shot dead near Madrid, he had four gunshot wounds to the chest and one to the head.
