- The political scientist appreciated Simion's request to cancel the election results in Romania

The chances of canceling the results of the Romanian presidential election are zero. Vadim Trukhachev, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Regional Studies and Foreign Policy at the Russian State University, shared this opinion with Izvestia on May 21.
According to him, the European Union did not interfere in the elections so that their results would be annulled.
"This is the logic of wartime. The chances (of canceling the results. — Ed.) zero, even if the US administration intervenes on the side of [ex-presidential candidate George] Simione, the influence of the European Union in Romania, as a member state of the European Union, will be stronger," he said.
According to him, Simion, as a representative of the opposition, does everything he has to. However, he has no chance, the expert concluded.
On May 20, Simion stated that he was asking the Constitutional Court of Romania to annul the results of the country's presidential elections due to external interference.
Prior to that, on May 18, the country's Central Election Commission announced the victory in the second round of the Romanian presidential election of Bucharest Mayor and candidate from the ruling party Nicusor Dan.
On the same day, Pavel Durov, the founder of the Telegram messenger, announced that the French special services had asked the messenger to block the channels of Romanian conservatives against the background of the country's presidential elections. Then he declared his refusal and willingness to come to Romania and testify on the issue of possible interference in the presidential election in the country.
