The third 3+3 ministerial meeting on the South Caucasus is currently being prepared. Russia supports the holding of the following two events in Baku and Yerevan. This was stated on May 21 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at a press conference following talks with his Armenian counterpart Ararat Mirzoyan.

"We talked about where the third meeting in the 3+3 format could be convened. I believe that the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, who wish to host this event, can well agree among themselves, and we are ready to assist them in the sequencing of the meeting. We want the next two events to be held in the capitals of Armenia and Azerbaijan," he said.

Lavrov drew attention to the significant development potential of the 3+3 platform. He also noted that two ministerial meetings had already been held in Tehran and Istanbul, and a third such meeting was currently being prepared.

On April 12, during a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov at a diplomatic forum in Antalya, Lavrov confirmed to him that the Russian Federation was ready to facilitate the conclusion of a peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku. In addition, they discussed steps to strengthen cooperation and strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan, as well as the schedule of joint events.
