The sowing of spring crops was carried out in the Pskov region by almost 50%

Spring field work is actively underway in the Pskov region. The municipality's enterprises have planted more than 2.3 thousand hectares with spring crops, which is 47% of the plan. These figures were announced by the head of the district Natalia Fedorova on Wednesday, May 21.
"The main task of the agrarians of the district today is to fulfill the planned volumes of sowing of spring crops. The volume and quality of the future harvest will depend on how successfully they complete it," the official told the Pskov News feed.
According to her data, spring crops were sown on 1,155 hectares (59% of the plan). Forage plants are sown on plots with a total area of 749 hectares, potatoes — 100 hectares, rapeseed — 355 hectares, and perennial grasses — 287 hectares.
Fedorova also mentioned that the farmers of the region have fed a significant part of the crops of winter, perennial grasses and pastures. More than 40 thousand tons of organic fertilizers were added for the harvest of agricultural crops in 2025.
Earlier in May, Izvestia reported that frosts had destroyed 12% of sugar beet crops, and they would have to be replanted. Also, the southern regions of Russia may lose up to half of the harvest of apricots, peaches, cherries and plums.
