The festival "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes has ended in Republika Srpska

The International Documentary Film Festival "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" ended in Banja Luka Republika Srpska. Over 350 people visited it in two days. The audience was presented with films about the special military operation and the history of the Serbs in the Balkans.

Those present were particularly impressed by the painting "Island of Faith" by RTD military documentarian Olga Kiri. Representatives of Serbian veteran organizations noted that the tape shows parallels between the events in the former Yugoslavia and what happened in the territories liberated during the war.

The guests of the festival emotionally received the premiere of the film by RTD military documentarian Oleg Nekishev "The Italian Resistance. Struggle", which tells about the humanitarian support of the people of Donbass by the Italians. The film dispelled the myth of widespread Russophobia in Europe and showed resistance to official EU censorship in Italy and beyond.

In addition, the audience noted the film by RTD military documentaries Yulia Martovalieva and Mikhail Burov "Selidovo. A crime without a statute of limitations." Here, too, many saw parallels, comparing the ethnic cleansing of Serbian enclaves with the horrors of the crimes depicted in the painting.

As part of the business program, there was an opportunity to discuss the details of the movie not only with the authors, but also with the participants of the events shown in the films, and share their impressions with each other.

"We just got a flood of thanks from the audience of the festival. People approached the war documentaries and the organizers and said thank you all evening. We sang Russian and Serbian songs together, cried, watched movies, and promised each other to meet at another festival in Republika Srpska," said Ekaterina Yakovleva, general producer of the festival and head of RT documentary broadcasting.

The International Festival "RT.Doc: The Time of Our Heroes" unites documentary filmmakers, military officers, artists, poets, musicians, and opinion leaders on its platforms. The program of the festival is connected by a common idea: "This is the time of heroes. This is our time." At the center of each film is a poignant story, with a human fate behind every frame. This is a movie about the defenders of Donbass, about the heroes at the front and in the rear, about volunteers, doctors, military officers, artists and musicians.

The festival's collection includes more than 100 films. These are the tapes of RT, Channel One, VGTRK, Zvezda and SPAS TV channels, as well as independent authors, including foreign ones. The festival features documentaries from Italy, Iran, Iraq, Palestine, Serbia, Slovakia, France, the United States and other countries.

In addition to Russia, the festival was shown in more than 20 countries: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Bangladesh, Belarus, Vietnam, Egypt, Zambia, India, Italy, Cambodia, Cyprus, China, Lebanon, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Peru, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Sri Lanka and South Ossetia..
