Bus driver who committed an accident in Kalmykia was arrested


The driver of a minibus that caused an accident in Kalmykia, in which people died, was detained for 2 months. This was reported on May 21 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region.
"At the request of the investigator of the police station of the village of Tsagan-Aman of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia "Yashkulsky", a preventive measure was chosen in the form of detention for a period of 2 months for the driver who committed a fatal accident on May 19," the publication says.
It is specified that the investigators are investigating a criminal case under part 5 of Article 264 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of traffic rules and operation of vehicles, resulting in the death of two or more persons").
A minibus collided with a truck in the Yustinsky district of Kalmykia on May 19. As a result of the accident, 7 people were killed and 11 others were injured. They were taken to medical institutions with injuries of varying severity. Later that day, the press service of the Federal Center for Disaster Medicine (FCMC) of the Russian Ministry of Health reported that the number of injured had increased to 14 people.
