The Russian-Chinese Forum, which was held on May 19-20 under the motto "Bolshoy Ussuriysky: cooperation in the joint development of the island", has ended in Khabarovsk. More than three thousand people took part in it. Among them are representatives of government, business, public and youth organizations. The event was attended by about 600 participants from China. The Forum's program included more than 30 themed venues, cultural and sporting events.

"Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island is a unique place that belongs to two countries at once. And it is very important for us to fill this territory with content. So that there is not just a trade in consumer goods, but that we preserve the island and nature, and preserve the cultural philosophy of Russia and China. We want to create the Peoples' Friendship Park and fill it with architecture – Chinese, Russian and those peoples who have lived here in the Far Eastern land since ancient times. We want to create a Common Victory park. After all, it was the territories of the Russian Far East and the Northeastern provinces of China that were jointly liberated from the Japanese invaders by the Red Army and Chinese soldiers. We cannot overlook these aspects of our shared history, but of course, our economy must also be behind this. We really want the interpenetration of our countries to begin with philosophy and end with the peoples' interest in each other and common benefit. Industrialization, tourism development, cultural and educational exchange – all this in the future will lead to the fact that our children will work with each other, develop a joint business and will respect each other's language and culture as good neighbors," said Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory.

The business program of the Forum included sessions on economic cooperation between Russia and China, energy, tourism development, deepening intercultural cooperation, environmental issues and entrepreneurship. The participants discussed the creation and development of industrial and technology parks, the export of creative industries and agro-industrial products, the prospects for the e-commerce market, the role of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Russian-Chinese partnership and other issues. One of the central topics was the construction of a year-round cargo and passenger automobile checkpoint on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. Its opening will increase passenger traffic to 1.5 million people per year, and cargo traffic to 1.3 million tons.

"Numerous interesting proposals were announced on the sidelines of the forum. Based on the results, together with the Khabarovsk Territory, we will systematize the announced initiatives and try to maximize the implementation of the agreements reached and stated intentions," said Jiang Xiaoyang, Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Khabarovsk.

At the Forum, special attention was paid to the development of economic cooperation in various fields, including the mutual localization of production.

"The Russian-Chinese Forum was held at a high level. Khabarovsk Krai is the largest manufacturing and logistics center. The issues of industrial cooperation, in which Russia and China are currently interested, were at the center of attention at the event. The Roscongress Foundation will strive to develop and expand the Russian-Chinese Forum. It is already attracting attention at the federal level. The discussion of the topics that were discussed at the event will continue within the framework of the Eastern Economic Forum. I am confident that the Forum will occupy an important place on the international agenda," said Igor Pavlov, First Deputy Director of the Roscongress Foundation and Director of the Eastern Economic Forum.

The key event of the Forum was the plenary session "Russia and China: Joining forces for common Prosperity." It was attended by representatives of government and business of the two countries. They discussed economic partnership, the development of border regions, investments in joint projects, trade, industrial cooperation, tourism and cultural ties between Russia and China.

34 agreements were signed at the Forum, 25 of them with representatives of foreign companies. The total amount is more than 100 billion rubles.

Among the most significant are agreements on the construction of a natural gas liquefaction plant, a club hotel with a SPA and yacht club on Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island, the production of glamping and the launch of a mechanism for the integrated development of territories in Khabarovsk by the federal holding ETALON. A cooperation agreement was also signed between Dmitry Demeshin, Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, and the Russian Union of Travel Industry, aimed at creating a solid foundation for expanding travel opportunities, including in the development of cruise tourism and the exchange of cultural experiences.

The Forum offered participants various event formats for direct dialogue and reaching specific agreements. In particular, the Russia-China business dialogue, a pitch session of investment projects, and more than 400 B2B pairs were held, as well as a meeting between entrepreneurs from the two countries.

Cultural and sporting events were held within the framework of the Forum. The program of the traditional festival-fair "AmurFest.Spring" included performances by various artists, including Chinese artists. Cultural events were particularly successful: the Cuisines of Russia and China festival with cooking and tasting dishes from chefs from the two countries, the interactive cultural spaces Chinatown and Slavyanskaya Fair, the performance of the Wuqiao Chinese Circus and a concert by Boris Berezovsky with the Far Eastern Academic Symphony Orchestra.

An alley was planted in the Khabarovsk Regional Park named after N.N. Muravyov-Amursky in honor of the 30th anniversary of twinning between the Khabarovsk Territory and Heilongjiang Province. The head of the region Dmitry Demeshin took part in the action. The Fuyuan – Khabarovsk International Sailing Regatta was also timed to coincide with this event. The transboundary Amur River was also not ignored - an environmental campaign was held on the fairway, as part of which juvenile sturgeon and Kaluga were released into the Amur.

The youth platform "Bridge to the Future: a youth perspective on Russian-Chinese Cooperation" was held at the forum. It was held within the framework of the International Friendship Club. At the event, more than 500 students from Russia and China discussed the development of cooperation between the two countries. The participants of the site also took part in an open dialogue with the governor of the Khabarovsk Territory and unfurled a 300-meter St. George ribbon on the Admiral Nevelsky Embankment in Khabarovsk.
