In Achinsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, a criminal case was opened against a man who threw a puppy out of a fourth-floor window. This was reported on May 21 in the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

"At the end of April 2025, in the evening, the Achinsky duty station of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia received a message that a resident of an apartment building in the 3rd microdistrict had thrown his dog out of the window of an apartment on the fourth floor," the department's Telegram channel reported.

As a result of the fall, the animal suffered fractures of its limbs. The puppy has received the necessary medical care and is currently undergoing treatment.

"During the verification measures, the district police commissioner identified and detained the suspect. He turned out to be a previously convicted local resident born in 1984," the Interior Ministry added.

A criminal case has been opened against the attacker under the article on animal cruelty. The man may face up to 3 years in prison.

Earlier, on April 16, the justice of the peace of the Olginsky judicial district found a resident of Primorye guilty of harsh treatment of a dog. It is reported that in October 2024, a man decided to get rid of his dog, as it periodically broke loose from its leash, and inflicted multiple blows on its head with a metal pipe, resulting in the death of the animal.
