Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called on the United Nations on May 21 to review information on British war crimes in Afghanistan and Iraq at the international level.

Earlier, the BBC TV channel reported that British soldiers of the Special Air Service (SAS) in Afghanistan and Iraq killed unarmed people, including children.

"What the BBC journalists told us should be the subject of proceedings by the international community, including the UN. At least the UN Special Rapporteur on extrajudicial executions and the UN Human Rights Council should be interested in this case," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Zakharova drew attention to the fact that the British side likes to blame Russia. At the same time, the published data indicate that London sought to hide the traces of its war crimes in order to avoid responsibility.
