The European Union (EU) countries have so far transferred two thirds of the promised 2 million ammunition to Kiev. This was stated on May 21 by the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga after a meeting with the head of EU diplomacy Kaya Kallas.

"EU members have already allocated two thirds of the 2 million artillery shells. We are working to cover the remaining third as quickly as possible," he wrote on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

Sibiga stated the need to make "bold and big decisions" to accelerate the process of Ukraine's accession to the EU.

Earlier, on April 9, Callas announced the lack of EU resources for the planned supply of 2 million artillery shells to Ukraine. She also called money the main obstacle.
