The State Duma may terminate Savchenko's parliamentary powers ahead of schedule

A draft resolution on the early termination of Oleg Savchenko's parliamentary powers has been submitted to the State Duma. The document was posted on the electronic database of the lower house of Parliament on May 20.
"To consider the powers of Oleg Vladimirovich Savchenko, deputy of the State Duma, elected in the Volga single—mandate electoral district No. 84 (Volgograd Region), prematurely terminated on May 20, 2025 on the basis of his written statement on resigning his parliamentary powers in connection with his transfer to another job," the document on the website says.
It is specified that on May 22 at the plenary session of the State Duma the draft will be considered.
Earlier, the State Duma prematurely terminated the powers of LDPR deputy Yuri Napso. The reason was the Napso's failure to perform his duties for 30 days or more, as well as his absence from meetings. It was reported that the ex-deputy of April 2023 often took sick leave, while in between he simply did not come to work.
