A resident of the Amur region was detained for high treason


Law enforcement agencies detained a resident of the Amur region for high treason, he planned to participate in hostilities against the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and commit sabotage. This was announced on May 21 by the press service of the regional directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia.
"The FSB of Russia in the Amur region has suppressed the illegal activities of a local resident involved in committing high treason in the form of providing other assistance to Ukraine in activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation," the report says.
According to Anastasia Yablokova, an official representative of the Federal Security Service for the Amur Region, during the investigation it was revealed that the man planned to take part in hostilities against the Russian Armed Forces and commit a terrorist act on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
A criminal case was opened against the resident under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason"). Earlier, criminal cases were initiated against the same defendant under Part 1 of Article 30, paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 281, part 1 of Article 30, part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which are related to preparations for sabotage and participation in the activities of an organization recognized as terrorist in the Russian Federation. At the moment, the suspect is in custody.
Earlier, on May 21, it was reported that Belgorodian Yuri Yaroshenko was sentenced to 16 years in prison for high treason and preparation of a terrorist attack against soldiers of the Russian Armed Forces. He planned to poison the food that was going to be sent to the participants of the special military operation (SVO).
