The Interior Ministry warned about the theft of passwords from "Public Services" using Telegram bots

The attackers began using Telegram bots to obtain passwords from accounts on "Public Services". This was announced on May 20 by Denis Kostin, Deputy head of the Department for Combating Property Crimes committed in the field of computer information, UBK of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

"They [the scammers] have now reached the point where they even have their own Telegram bots, the whole point of which is that you just enter the SMS password into the window, again, and give the scammers access to "Public Services," he said.

Kostin noted that in the future, fraudsters resort to the usual schemes using "secure accounts" to steal funds. He added that such bots in the messenger are regularly blocked, but the attackers create new ones.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned Russians on May 21 about changing fraud schemes. The new tactic is that victims independently call intruders after reporting an allegedly hacked social media account.
