All the quarterfinal pairs of the Hockey World Cup playoffs have become known.

Based on the results of the final group matches of the 2025 World Hockey Championship (WCHA) played in Sweden and Denmark, all quarterfinal pairs were determined.

In Group A, the Canadian national team won. Sweden took second place, Finland — third, and the Austrian national team rounded out the top four. The Swiss team won in Group B, the USA team took second place, the Czech Republic and Denmark took third and fourth place, respectively.

It is expected that in the quarterfinals, scheduled for May 22, teams from different groups will meet — the first place will play with the fourth, and the second — with the third.

The pairs will be formed as follows: Canada – Denmark; Sweden – Czech Republic; USA – Finland; Switzerland – Austria.

In the first match of the group stage of the World Hockey Championship, the USA national team beat the Danish team with a score of 5:0. The game took place on the opening day of the World Cup, on May 9th. Forwards Cutter Gauthier (in the 18th minute), Logan Cooley (24th), Matty Beniers (29th and 57th) and defender Mason Lorey (50th) scored for the winning team.
