- The doctor who operated on the injured calf in an accident told about the death of the animal

Veterinarian Mikhail Suchkov, who operated on Ilyusha the elk, who was hit by a car in the Moscow region, told Izvestia on May 20 details about the animal's death. According to him, during the operation, the calf's heart could not stand it.
"I couldn't stand the anesthesia, a serious case, everything was already running. The situation is protracted, so the operation turned out to be more difficult than expected," he said, adding that the calf would be cremated.
A correspondent for Izvestia reported on May 19 that a moose was shot down in the Istra district of the Moscow region, after which the animal lay for two days near the village of Pavlovskaya Sloboda in an immobile state.
Later that day, the calf was examined and transported to the Losiny Ostrov National Park for assistance. On the afternoon of May 20, veterinarians were preparing the animal for surgery, assessing its condition as stable and satisfactory, but in the evening a source from Izvestia reported that the animal had died. This information was later confirmed by Maria Zhukova, chief physician of Maxima Vet Clinic.
