The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of Russian servicemen in the special operation zone.

On May 21, the Ministry of Defense reported on the exploits of Russian military personnel in the area of the special military operation (SVO).

The department noted the merits of Corporal Maxim Nikolaev, who carried out the combat mission of organizing uninterrupted communication between the higher command and the motorized rifle unit conducting offensive operations in one of the important areas.

During the retreat, militants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) opened mortar fire on the positions of Russian servicemen, as a result of which several repeaters were damaged. Nikolaev restored the disabled equipment under fire, set it up and established reliable communication.

Thanks to his prompt actions, the higher command was able to maintain contact and coordinate the Russian units, which contributed to the capture of the frontier in an important area.

In addition, the Russian Defense Ministry drew attention to the actions of Junior Sergeant Alexei Sokolov, who was tasked with ensuring the safety of a convoy of Russian military equipment delivering ammunition and food to the positions of Russian troops.

The soldier conducted a reconnaissance of the route, discovered an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) of the enemy and transmitted its coordinates to the command. After receiving information about the drone, the column was hidden in the forest, and an electronic warfare system was applied to the drone, as a result of which it lost control and crashed.

Thanks to Sokolov's precise actions, the column was protected, which contributed to the timely delivery of the necessary goods to the positions of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation
