Russian tennis player Samsonova reached the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament


Russian tennis player Lyudmila Samsonova defeated French athlete Diane Parry in the second round of the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament in Strasbourg. The match took place on May 20 and ended with a score of 6:4, 6:4.
Samsonova made two aces during the game, made one double mistake and converted four of the five break points, Sport-Express adds.
Samsonova will play Spain's Paula Badosa in the quarterfinals.
Currently, the Russian athlete occupies the 19th place in the WTA singles ranking.
The day before, Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva retained the third position in the WTA rankings. Russian athlete Ekaterina Alexandrova dropped two positions and now occupies the 13th place. In addition, Diana Schneider rose to 19th place, while Daria Kasatkina remained in 25th position.
