Former Romanian presidential candidate George Simion said he was asking the Constitutional Court to annul the results of the country's presidential elections. On Tuesday, May 20, he wrote about it on his page on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"I am officially asking the Constitutional Court to cancel the election of the Romanian president. For the same reasons that the December elections were canceled: external interference by state and non—state actors," he stressed.

Simion noted that neither France, nor Moldova, nor any other state has the right to interfere in the elections in Romania. He also called on the citizens of the countries to appeal to the constitutional Court with a demand to "cancel this farce."

Earlier in the day, former Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that the current head of state Maia Sandu and other representatives of Chisinau directly interfered in the presidential elections in Romania in order to keep "loyal friends." Commenting on the results of the second round of the Romanian presidential election, Dodon noted that the last campaign demonstrated a deep split in the neighboring country.

On May 18, the country's Central Election Commission announced the victory of Bucharest Mayor and ruling party candidate Nicusor Dan in the second round of the Romanian presidential election after counting 99% of the ballots. According to calculations, Dan has more than 54% of the votes. It is specified that he addressed the voters, saying that his victory belongs to his fellow citizens.
