Camel Mountain in Stavropol territory cleared of garbage

In Stavropol, an illegal landfill on Camel Mountain, which is a natural monument of regional importance, was eliminated. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office on Tuesday, May 20.

Household waste has accumulated on the territory of the mountain, writes StavropolMedia news agency. The owner of the cluttered areas turned out to be a private company that did not take the necessary cleaning measures.

Violation of the law on environmental protection was revealed by employees of the Mineralovodsk interdistrict prosecutor's office. After the intervention of the supervisors, the natural monument was cleared of debris.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that municipal and regional authorities could be responsible for identifying and eliminating illegal landfills. Such a bill was adopted by the State Duma in the first reading.
