Rubio: the conflict in Ukraine has no military solution

The United States recognizes that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be resolved militarily. This was announced on May 20 by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio at a hearing in the Senate Foreign Relations Committee of the US Congress, his speech was broadcast on the Fox News YouTube channel.

"Here's what we can all agree on: there is no military solution to this crisis. It should end with a negotiated settlement," Rubio said.

At the same time, according to the US Secretary of State, the US administration is working with other NATO countries on the issue of transferring additional Patriot anti-aircraft missile systems to Kiev.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a telephone conversation with American leader Donald Trump, said that Russia supports a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian crisis and pointed out the need to find compromises that would suit all parties.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted that the Russian Federation prefers to achieve the goals of a special military operation through diplomatic means.
