In France, taxi drivers continue to block streets for the second day as part of a demonstration for new conditions of payment for medical transportation. This was reported by the newspaper Le Figaro on May 20.

"About a hundred taxi drivers continue to block Boulevard Raspail on Tuesday in Paris, near the Ministry of Transport, in protest," the article says.

Traffic disruptions were also announced in some cities. For example, at the Bardonnex customs checkpoint on the French-Swiss border, through which a large number of vehicles pass, traffic was reported to slow down by 10 km on the A40 highway.

According to the newspaper, there are fewer protesters than the day before, however, protests continue in several French cities.

The day before, the mesinfos portal reported that police officers fired tear gas at a demonstration of taxi drivers in Paris. It was noted that the drivers want the authorities to abandon the revision of the terms of compensation for the transportation of hospital patients at the expense of state medical insurance. The new rules are due to come into force this fall.
