The European Union (EU) countries have decided to completely lift the economic sanctions imposed on Syria. This was stated on May 20 by the head of the union's diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, following a meeting of the EU Council in Brussels.
"Today we have decided to lift our economic sanctions on Syria. We want to help the Syrian people rebuild a new, inclusive and peaceful Syria," she wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
