Starting from June 1, fares for public transport will change in Moscow

Starting from June 1, new fares will start operating in Moscow for public transport and along the Moscow High-Speed Diameter during critically busy hours, as well as for the evacuation of cars. This was announced on May 20 in the metropolitan Department of Transport.
"The cost of travel tickets without a travel limit for 30, 90 and 365 days in the capital remains one of the lowest among major Russian cities," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that the average increase in the cost of public transport will increase by 5%. As specified in Deptrans, this is due to the growing costs of carriers for fuel, electricity and supplies. For example, starting from the beginning of summer, paying for a Purse ticket will cost 67 rubles instead of the current 63 rubles.
In addition, starting from June 1, the cost of moving and storing vehicles in the capital will change, while it will remain lower than the actual cost of the city for evacuation. The cost of travel along the Moscow High-speed Diameter during critically busy hours will also be indexed by two rubles.
"Travel remains free 70% of the time on weekdays, as well as on weekends and holidays. The cost of transit travel does not change," the Department of Transport emphasized.
It is specified that the funds from the indexation will be used to improve the transport infrastructure of the capital, open new metro stations and upgrade the urban transport fleet.
On May 13, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced that 100 new single-section trams "Lion Cub-Moscow" will be delivered to the capital. According to him, the first half of the wagons will be transferred to the P.L. Apakov depot this year, the second — next year.
