The appearance of troops of the "coalition of the willing" in the Ukrainian conflict zone will be seen as a relapse of the military threat. This was stated on May 20 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, during a speech at the plenary session of the XIII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum.

"The appearance of the troops of the so-called "coalition" in the conflict zone <... It will, of course, be considered as a relapse of the military threat with all the ensuing consequences, up to their recognition as a legitimate military objective," Medvedev said during a speech at the forum.

According to him, Europe expects to rearm Kiev and prepare it for a larger conflict.

"I hope that with the help of states that have not yet lost their sanity, the collective West will still be able to restrain the impulses of individual brainless but very belligerent European politicians," he concluded.

In April, the AFP news agency reported, citing European officials, that only six countries out of 30 members of the "coalition of the willing" could send military personnel to Ukraine. In particular, it is indicated that the United Kingdom, France and the Baltic countries have declared their readiness to send their contingents.

On May 7, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced Germany's intentions to provide Ukraine with reliable security guarantees.
