UK sanctions and attempts to use threatening language cannot influence Russia's course. The Russian Embassy in London announced this on May 20.

"Needless to say, these various 'sanctions', as well as other attempts to speak to us in the language of ultimatums and threats, cannot affect Russia's course," the TASS diplomatic mission quoted him as saying.

They also added that these sanctions only emphasize the "narrow-mindedness of Britain's policy" against the background of the development of dialogue between Russia and the United States on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

Experts assessed the likelihood of a radical scenario with the severance of trade ties.

Earlier that day, it became known that the United Kingdom expanded the anti-Russian sanctions list, which included 20 individuals and 62 legal entities. It was clarified that restrictions were imposed, among other things, on 18 courts, as well as the St. Petersburg Currency Exchange (SPVB) and the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA).
